Little Love Bunnies

In honor of Valentine's Day, I have just released my latest pattern- Little Love Bunnies! This sweet little pair of bunnies look adorable standing next to each other. You could just knit one, or the pair, or more. The clothes could also be knit in spring colors. The little bunnies would be a great addition to an Easter basket.

These pocket-sized bunnies are knit in fingering weight yarn. They use a small amount of yarn, making them a great stash-busting project. The two bunnies are made from the same pattern, but can be dressed in overalls or a dress. Both the overalls and the dress have crocheted chain straps that cross in the back. The dress has lovely lace hearts along the bottom.

Happy Holidays!

This has been quite a busy year! I've been busy designing lots of patterns and over the summer I got a new puppy. Although taking care of the puppy has filled up a lot of time, fortunately I have still been able to finish plenty of knitting projects. I'm going to share some of the Christmas related ones.

One of my most exciting recent projects is the Cookie Decorating Set in the Interweave Knits Holiday edition. The cookies can be a toy or a decoration. They are a fun, quick little knit and make an adorable and festive finished product.

Knit Picks recently released a Christmas themed pattern collection called Merry Knitmas. My pattern Festive Fair Isle Ornaments was included in this collection. They are knit with fingering weight yarn and have four options for the design on the ornament, a snowflake, dove, reindeer or tree.

Another ornament pattern recently released is my Bulky Baubles pattern. It is a free pattern through the Knit Picks website. It is a simple pattern that uses super bulky yarn. They knit up very quickly.

My most recent release is the self-published pattern, Teddy in a Striped Sweater. It wasn't originally meant to be a Christmas knit, but the sample bear ended up being white with a green and red striped sweater.

Now that I've shared about my knitting projects, here are some adorable puppy pictures! This is my Border Collie, Finnegan. The first few pictures are from the summer. He's already grown so much, I can't believe how small he was! The last one is more recent and is from his first trip to the beach. He is now eight and a half months old and near his adult size.

Although I haven't been posting very much, I am still quite busy designing and working on projects. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!

Some magazines

I have some exciting publications to share! Sorry this is a bit overdue. I have been quite busy with lots of projects! Last fall my Giant Tiger pattern was in the special edition of Love of Knitting called Knit & Crochet Toys. He even got to be part of the cover photo! It's pretty exciting to see your work on display on the magazine rack.

The first sample I made ended up being a birthday gift for my nephew. Before that he spent a few months hanging out in my living room.

He's 40" tall and 24" around the chest- the perfect size for hugging. The yarn is superwash wool, which is soft and washable. Most pieces are worked in the round for easy finishing.

In addition to the tiger, last spring my Springtime Mobile pattern was in the Love of Knitting, Spring 2017 issue. This project also got to be on the cover.

The pattern has four little animals: bunny, lamb, fawn and duckling. They can all be made to make the mobile, or made individually as toys. This was a fun project to design.

I enjoyed seeing my projects in magazines out in stores. I'm looking forward to the release of another magazine this fall or winter that includes another one of my patterns.

Slanted Garter Mittens

Another pattern released last week was my Slanted Garter Mittens. They are in the Garter Ridge pattern collection from Knit Picks. This collection features patterns that use garter stitch in different ways.

The main section of the mittens is worked flat and uses increasing and decreasing to shape the sides and form the diagonal garter ridges. The cuff is an attached garter edging. The mittens can be made in one color or with stripes.

These mittens are knit entirely in garter stitch. They use the most basic stitch, but the unique construction makes for an interesting knit.

Snowy Bunny

It's been a busy week for pattern releases! One of my favorite new patterns is the Snowy Bunny, which is part of a new Knit Picks collection called Under 200. The collection has lots of patterns that work up quickly and use small amounts of yarn. They're great for gifts and stash-busting!

This lovely little bunny is worked mostly in the round (all pieces except for the ears). The body and ears are seed stitch and the arms, legs, and head are stockinette stitch. The nose, mouth, and eyes are embroidered on and the tail is a pom-pom. Short rows are used to form the feet.

It is simple and fast to make, but the end result is amazingly adorable!

A new fall pattern- Decorative Gourd Set

The weather is still a bit warm, but fall is definitely on it's way. The mornings are chilly and there are even a few leaves beginning to fall. In anticipation of the upcoming season change, I am releasing a new pattern perfect for getting into the fall spirit.

The Decorative Gourd Set includes instructions to make four different mini gourds. There is a bicolor gourd, a hexagonal pumpkin, a nonagonal pumpkin, and a crown of thorns gourd. These four patterns can be made in various colors with different finishing details to create an abundance of ornamental gourds.

All the gourds and stems are worked in the round. The "thorns" on the crown of thorns gourd are worked flat, then sewn on. The stripes up the sides of the nonagonal and crown of thorns gourd are embroidered on. They use such a small amount of yarn that they make a great stash-busting project. They are also a fairly quick knit. So, if you're looking for a quick and enjoyable project to get you ready for fall, here it is!

Tiny Turtle

I have another new pattern out! The adorable Tiny Turtle is now for sale in my Ravelry shop.

All the pieces are knit in the round, so there is very little finishing. The pattern on the shell is made using slipped stitches. It uses a very small amount of yarn and works up quickly.

This super-cute little toy would make a great gift!
